The best shops for women in Paris

A fashion file that sets foot on both banks to deliver you the crème de la crème of women's boutiques in Paris.

In Paris, the female gender has plenty to do when it comes to filling her wardrobe. However, and to put it mildly, an eternal dissatisfaction reigns every morning when making a choice. Dry your tears and rest assured: with this list of clothes shops, you will never be able to say that you have nothing to wear before getting into the tro-mé. Low prices (thrift stores, it's here), designer pieces, haute couture ... There will be, it is promised, for all tastes! So many (good) reasons to have fun. And anyway, it doesn't matter your style because, as Anne Klein put it so beautifully: "clothes are not going to change the world, the women who wear them, yes."

The Broken Arm

In the style of Dover Street Market and the late Colette, this is a shop that has been working behind the scenes for ten years for an audience of fashionable people. The zépo spot in front of the Square du Temple is full of clothes (Jacquemus, latest Nike collabs, Christophe Lemaire, etc.), books (William Eggleston, Dan Flavin, Jeff Koons), music (rather from the last century), furniture and handpicked shoes, carefully selected and carefully arranged.

We find there ? The flagship of luxury ready-to-wear brands but also of new designers. 100% transparent raincoat, Céline cowboy boots, Track Balenciaga, silk shirt and XXL jogging; all mixtures are allowed, like a Benetton ++ of clothing. We love !

Amélie Pichard

Amélie Pichard, it's kind of our imaginary BFF. Fed up with the French varietoche version Stone and Charden, plastic tablecloth and sauciflard, the designer installed rue de Lappe creates shoes and luxury bags with a completely improbable universe. And it’s hot. On the wall, postcards of naked women, Bretons and bichons graze the bad taste ... But precisely, no. Amélie Pichard has created a unique place where the highest sophistication and ultimate mockery meet.We find there ? Iconic shoes that all have female names - big breasts if possible - and all have strong 70's accents. Pumps with pink Malabar hairs, raffia mules, denim clogs, chic cowboy boots à la Dolly Parton… As for bags, it sends it bag galore with, always, the Pichard clasp that goes well…

& Other Stories

& Other Stories is still one of those “universe brands” that we call “label”, but, unlike its sisters, it was not born from the fertile imagination of an intellectual creator. It is the product of a fast fashion juggernaut: H&M. It was in 2013 that the Swedish group, not very Catholic in ethics, unveiled its new project, the story of boxing in a more elite court and of restoring an already well-tainted coat of arms.

We find there ? Long bohemian dresses with multiple cuts or their iconic draped mini dresses. Still iconic, the Lurex 70’s and retro sportswear touches, ultra-moulax funnel neck crop tops and oversized coats.

L'Appartement Sézane

Proudly located at the corner of Saint-Fiacre and Jeûneur streets, the very first Sézane address offers Parisian women to come and try out in real life the treasures made by Morgane Sézalory. Here, everything has been thought of to make you feel at home, like at home: the large fitting rooms, the mega-soft armchairs and the large marble table are part of a decor from which most of the furniture has been found. flea market of Saint-Ouen by the designer.

We find there ? The two collections of the brand (fall / winter and spring / summer) and the very popular capsule collections. But also a very nice selection of lifestyle objects related to the theme of the collection (stationery, mugs, terrariums ...)

L'Exception

After the concept and the department stores, here are the select stores! First of its name, L’Exception has long been an e-shop before placing its cliques and sapes in the gigantic canopy of Les Halles. The idea of the place? Chauvin à mort: celebrating blue-white-red creators, regardless of whether they are confidential (Atelier Bartavelle) or ultra-recognized (Givenchy, Petit Bateau, Florian Denicourt, Velvetine ...)

We find there ? Nearly 400 partner brands in their catalog: overpriced luxury labels for ordinary people, and designer clothes that are much more accessible - but not necessarily cheap.

Manifeste011

No animal leather, but pineapple leather. No worm silk but eucalyptus fiber ... With these materials of the human of the future, the duo formed by the twins Judith and Maud Pouzin gives chic fashion responsible for animals and the planet. . Here, several filters: brands that use vegan materials, but also products that are mostly eco-friendly.

We find there ? The upcycling of Fade Out Berlin jeans, the Japanese denim of the Belgians in Jacmin style, the famous shoe brand Good Guys prized by Emma Watson or the insane forms of Martine Jarlgaard.

Merci

Many thanks to the good fairy Marie-France Cohen for having the kindness to co-found this cool (and huge) concept store. Not only because it is one of the most beautiful in the capital, but also because it obeys a logic of solidarity: part of the profits go to Madagascar, via a foundation, to help women and children.

We find there ? A panoply of great stylists and designers, from Isabel Marant to Stella McCartney. But also, jewelry, perfumes and decorative objects ... Not to mention a great canteen in the basement.

Make My Lemonade

Dressed up fashionistas, go your way. Welcome to the wonderful world of Lisa Gachet, a tutti frutti fashion where everyone is beautiful, everyone is nice ... And we are quickly charmed. The one who broke the Internet with her do-it-yourselfers finally has an IRL address to express her limitless creativity. The space of 386 square meters immerses us directly in a more girly universe you die.

We find there ? Very simple fashion, easy to live with and over-vitaminized. Fruits - lemons at the head - are everywhere and everywhere always, this “sweet” spirit with a regressive je-ne-sais-quoi. Without forgetting a multitude of accessories (notebooks as if it were raining, stationery goleri and a lot of beauty finds).

Tom Greyhound

After thrilling the golden and trendy youth of Seoul, Handsome exported Tom Greyhound to Paris in 2014. For its first international address, the multi-brand concept store was housed in the confines of the Haut Marais. Installed in an old art gallery of 300 m2, the place has kept its artistic DNA, a way of upgrading clothing, to put it in perspective through art. And it's more than successful!

We find there ? A fairly wide range: casual and more or less affordable pieces (the first branded T-shirt starts at € 45) as well as more couture clothes. Randomly ? Marni, Reike Nen, Rombaut vegan sneakers ...

Sessun

Perfect cuts, a quirky and urban style, impeccable materials, ethnic or whimsical prints, and prices which, if they are far from being cheap, do not reach the heights of arrogance made in Paris … As you can see, Sessun is one of our favorite shops!

We find there ? Bags, shoes, beautiful coats for winter (around 200 €), dresses, pants, sweaters and pretty shirts (which rarely reach more than 150 €) ... Beware of torticollis: the choice is pantagruelic!

Urban Outfitters

Because we were fed up with the corner of a few square meters at the BHV and not the budget 'to refuel in New York each year, the cult brand Urban Outfitters has FINALLY deigned to grant us a store worthy of the name to us, poor French people. Like all the other stores, UO rue de Rivoli gives the impression of coming home, a huge, falsely gunned and warm loft where vintage clothes, green plants, notebooks, decor, vinyls and Photo Booth rub shoulders.

We find there ? A bit of everything and its opposite. In addition to a streetwear collector's offer which is worth the detour (Champion, Fila, Kappa, Obey, Calvin Klein, Carhartt, Dickies…), the shop is full of fairly cheap brands that enter the 90's trip but flirt with fast fashion, lower prices

Bis Boutique Solidaire

Established on Boulevard du Temple since the beginning of 2012, this boutique with its refined decor is not quite like the others. First, because it offers a chic and contemporary setting to what is called, among the followers of the good plan, a secondhand store (yes, against all expectations, this store with the false airs of New York loft made in the second hand).

We find there ? On the hangers, collectibles and creators are legion: Guy Laroche jacket for 55 €, Zadig & Voltaire jeans for 12 € or Gelati pumps for 30 €… Dozens of clothes collected by the Catholic Relief for men, women and children, all on two levels.

Études Studio

Recognizable by its iconic colors, Klein blue and black, Études Studio was originally a brand for guys infused with streetwear but also a publishing house and an artistic direction agency. Beautiful arty books and magazines on skateboarding and 90's hip-hop, clothes in primary colors, urban accessories, minimalist architecture… The fiefdom of rue Debelleyme is a paradise for 30-year-olds from insecurity to property in a few years .

We find there ? The women’s line, which blurs the codes of the genre, exploits the radically graphic, modern, versatile and comfortable look that has made Études a success. Oversized jumpsuits, hoodies, flowing pants, denim dresses…

Modetrotter

Welcome to Modetrotter, a boutique nestled in the heart of the Trail which immerses us in the over-vitamin brain of its creator, Marie Courroy. Modetrotter offers a half-bourgeois half-hipster wardrobe "I walk barefoot in the grass, I have a fringe and a bag with 1000 balls". Each collection - punctuated with cannon capsules - perfectly combines Parisian flair and escape.

We find there ? Yes to the mandarin orange blazers, long life to the shocking pink flowing pants, yes dad the "Stalker" cap and the "La Frime" jersey. To enter the store is to be attracted by these colorful clothes everywhere.

Andrea Crews

Forerunner of a 21st century activist fashion, Maroussia Rebecq made her label, Andrea Crews, a political manifesto long before it became fashionable. His shop / workshop, a sort of spaceship strewn with plants, is an essential place for the Parisian avant-garde who thinks of clothing as an object of belonging but also of contestation. "I am not interested in clothing as as a decorative form but as a social object. "

We find there ? Unisex collections between fashion and art as well as tons of 100% upcycling streetwear collabs

Surface To Air

It was the title of the Chemical Brothers that gave its name to the French brand Surface To Air, which quickly became a reference for Parisian "good style". In its flagship store, there are sober and sophisticated creations - but not too much - with a good portion of nonchalance specific to the City of Light.

We find there ? In addition to the brand's collections, which sell like hotcakes, there are also collaborations at the collection level, such as a pair of pumps designed with the assistance of the it-girl Leigh Lezark.

Roseanna

Roseanna can make a splash with a space of 80 m² redesigned by the architect Franklin Azzi. One detail challenges us: but where has black gone, yet so present in French fashion? Obviously, it is not part of the visual vocabulary of the creators who downright blacklisted it from their collections, preferring it the softness of a charcoal or a navy blue.

We find there ? You will understand: at Roseanna, refreshing colors and prints are in the spotlight, without forgetting the noble and natural materials (jacquard, lace, silk, tweed) which are mostly found in Italy.

Heimstone

Heimstone offers a colorful feminine wardrobe, rich in silk, lace or knitted raffia. Collections inspired by Austrian painters (Egon Schiele in 2012) or by American Indians ("Thunderbird", Spring-Summer 2013) and which range from head (Feather Crowns) to feet (lambskin sandals).

Are we there? Alix Petit has been offering for ten days a ready-to-wear, certainly expensive (dresses around 400 €) but ultra-refined: a mixture of materials, reliefs in fabrics, shimmering prints. The ideal address to get your hands on this famous spring dress, both vaporous, cheerful and original.

Archive 18-20

In the Rue des Archives, several arrows lead us to an urban garden, where a plant invasion in the form of "minimondes" and magnetic Japanese creations takes us away from the Parisian asphalt. After hitting a kawa in the all-wood cafe of the sign, we bourlingue in the concept store and its oversized Canopy: a huge city greenhouse cornered by Séverine Lahyani (Ly Adams), where they are joined by typified trenches, shirts and designer T-shirts.

Are we there? Vintage furniture, 70 € lighting, enamelled dishes, A. P. C. jeans, an exhibition on English boxing, fragrances and vinyls signed by Lola James Harper, Books on Mario Testino and Japanese whiskey Nikka…

Super Marché

Former stylist for major brands not to mention, Monia Sbouai, decided to create her own collections from second-hand clothes destined to rot the oceans. Shirts, T-shirts, pants, jeans ... once selected (as neutral as possible) and disassembled by her care, she sends them to the Association fashion esteem in Saint-Denis, designs finished models to support, so that they are assembled by men and women in social reintegration.

Are we there? Flocked upcycled pieces of the Super Market logo as minimalist as ethical, as unique as sharp, as timeless as unisex. Jackets, suits, trenchs, shirts, skirts, dresses, bananas…

Maison Château Rouge

In the ocean of brands, designers and assholes who offer current pieces in wax, Maison Château Rouge is an exception. Youssouf Fofana grew up in Château rouge (the African District of Paris, for those who would live in a yurt); he pays tribute to her by inscribing these sacred fabrics printed in the greatest contemporaneity and opened his shop there.

Are we there? Multicolored and multicultural, this space of 40 square meters offers all the creations of the brand (tops, sweatshirts, dresses, suits, jackets...), some unpublished capsules but also a selection of foreign magazines and beautiful books.

Bourgine

Collections At Reasonable Prices for a young designer (97 € per skirt, 155 € per dress) and which include a dozen models in several colors and materials. Always made around a theme, Bourgine's models are inspired by cinema, painting, society: Twin Peaks, Swedish cliches, the 60s, Russian expats…

Are we there? Velvet, Sonia Delaunay and prints are legion in Caroline's locker room.

AMI (Grenelle)

Alexandre Mattiussi is part of this new guard of Parisian artistic directors who want you good. Under his tunes of “I'm like you”, the one who made his arms at Dior (he is not like us at all) develops a sophisticated and nonchalant male (and now feminine) locker room for demanding boy next door.

Are we there? Two-button jackets, classic pants, round neck sweaters, jeans ... Caroline de Maigret or Clara Luciani love it and it's no surprise that this line for savvy Parisiennes is only available in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés shop.

Front de mode

Here you will not find T-shirts made by three babies in a cellar. Founded by stylist Sakina m'sa, Front de Mode is a very beautiful shop bringing together many 100% ethical brands that have signed a manifesto around " the social approach to production, respect for the environment in the choice of materials and societal and cultural ambition in their relations to people ".

Are we there? Here we are not on the wrong hemp dress. In addition to presenting her own brand, Sakina selects me on the side of badass creators. Eli Grita, MiniMeParis, Luz Collection, Wylde or Sempervivum rhyme "sustainable development" and " desirable fashion »

The Frankie Shop

Hallelujah: the best-kept address of the Big Apple has catapulted into the Haut-Marais ! In the discreet rue Saint-Claude, the fashionistas come to discover the trendy piece that they will not see anywhere else, quality that they owe to the flair and expertise of Gaëlle, head of the concept store. Debussed on the five continents, brands strive to bring added value to the basics of the wardrobe.

Are we there? Brands, some of which are not found elsewhere in France: a striped blouse Anna Quan is energized by an asymmetrical cut (310€) while a khaki trench Aki defies the laws of proportion by embracing oversize (175 €).

Jacquemus (Galeries Lafayette Champs-Élysées)

Solar, chic, southern, sensual, poetic and always embellished with touches of humor, the iconic Jacquemus drawing is copied tirelessly to take to the street. Thanks to collections with names that smell good petanque ("the Riviera", "the Santons of Provence", "the love of a Gypsy"...), the guy made his native Provence the favorite destination of fashionistas (see Emily Ratajkowski in the middle of lavender and die).

Are we there? XXL straw bags, bare feet, wooden sandals, minirobes, polka dot blouses ... and the famous Chiquito, richiqui bag that created the controversial and in permanent stock (#genius).

Maison Père

It is in the very chicos Saint-Honoré district that Maison Père has placed its clicks and its claw. Camille Omerin (the big boss) entrusted the keys of the truck to the duo of architects Toro & Liautard for a noble retro rendering of the warmest (marble, brass, herringbone parquet, stained furniture...) willingly playing the boundaries of the genre, passing with subtlety from the male to the female locker room, the place celebrates the bond that unites a father to his daughter (hence the name)

Are we there? Audacity is a must : yellow and sky blue print bomber (350 €), two-tone feather sandals( 295€), flare pants with peach stripes (295 €)…

Les Rituelles

Rituals is an ode to femininity, sensuality and sublimation of the body. Here, it is above all a question of giving back to lingerie its erotic charge by proposing delicate, refined and eminently evocative pieces. Behind this sharp selection, Aline, the boss, watches over the grain. In his shop you will find only independent, local and ethical brands.

Are we there? Silk, leather, Calais lace: the pieces are worked with noble and quality materials. What makes us want to give up permanently the itchy polyester panties.

Nelly Wandji

Inaugurated in early 2017, the concept store Nelly Wandji-named after its creator – has not been alangui Rue du Faubourg-Saint-honored by chance. The choice of this chicos artery was made with an idea in mind : that of positioning Africa in pure creation and luxury-what could be better for that than Paris ?

Are we there? The second space of the concept store is positioned as a cabinet of curiosities that makes us buzz among several African designers. Like Selly Raby Kane (Senegal), who works bazin and loincloth on beautiful bombers worn by Beyonce herself (199€).

Mint & Lilies

A deco shop where everything is beautiful, from dishes to green plants, from stationery to feminine ready-to-wear. The wild mint and the elegance of the lily, as if to emphasize that the lair was imagined by two women.

Are we there? A loyal clientele comes to buy jewelry (Zag, Izi .Mi), in designer clothes (Scotch House, Harris Wilson, Louise Misha) and Scandinavian decor (Nordal), Moroccan and sometimes even fair (Nkuku).

Sashiko-ya

On the gentrified side of rue Marcadet there is a shop with a lacquered window. Welcome to sashiko-ya, the workshop-showroom of Satomi Sakuma, doctor of Japanese embroidery, who created this place to transmit the ancestral art of sashiko to a maximum of followers.

Are we there? Japanese jeans to customize, great coupons of traditional fabrics and a vintage kimonos wear to bang their ass on the floor.

Carven

The Carven House has long struggled to find the codes that made it famous in the 1940s: simplicity, freedom and Parisian chic. Revamped by the new guard of young artistic directors in sight, Guillaume Henry in the lead in 2009, Carven is once again one of the favorite brands of trendy Parisiennes.

Are we there? Not only do women's collections succeed in convincing customers and professionals, but Carven, strong of his return in grace and multiplies points of sale and collabs "wow".
